<h1>Jordan</h1>
"<a href="http://www.jordanjubilee.com/">Jordan Jubilee</a>" has a bunch of information about traveling around jordan in general, including <a href="http://www.jordanjubilee.com/outdoors/canyoning.htm">canyoning</a> and wadi rum.
<h3>Amman</h3>
Cheap hostels
<h3>Wadi Rum</h3>
Tents can apparently be had for 2JD/night at the rest house near the main gate, or from JD17/night/person including breakfast. See <a href="http://www.baitali.com/">bait ali</a>.
<br />
There are apparently a few hikes from the main "resthouse" area that can be done on foot w/o a guide.
<br />
Horse tours are about 40JD/each for half a day or 70JD/each for a day (for two people). Trips look nice and a lot more ground can be covered. There are cheaper camel trips

<h3>Says a friend...</h3>
<blockquote>
You should go to milford sound and take one of the small boat cruises if you can. The waterfalls are over a mile high in most places -- they're more like vertical rivers than waterfalls... the pancake rocks in Greymouth are really worth seeing too. I really liked the city of Nelson a lot, it's very chill. I also liked Queenstown, but my brother (who's been living here for 9 months) didn't care for it. I only spent a few hours there though. My brother also didn't like Christchurch much.

oh, and go to the craters of the moon near the caldera south of rotorua, they were pretty intense. boiling mud and steam shooting everywhere, I thought it was very cool. =)
