**[Lucas' Notes for Lecture 3](/SummerCourseHeatWave.pdf)**

One issue that came up during class was that our solution to the heat equation only works for periodic boundary conditions. Of course, one would like to be able to solve the equation with arbitrary boundary conditions. Such a solution may be found here in the future. Another question also came up about how to prove that the fourier series for something like a square wave or a sawtooth wave converges. If anyone remembers other unanswered questions please post them here as well, and hopefully they'll get answered.
