Cheap hostels

Wadi Rum

Tents can apparently be had for 2JD/night at the rest house near the main gate, or from JD17/night/person including breakfast. See bait ali.
There are apparently a few hikes from the main "resthouse" area that can be done on foot w/o a guide.
Horse tours are about 40JD/each for half a day or 70JD/each for a day (for two people). Trips look nice and a lot more ground can be covered. There are cheaper camel trips
