Just watched a cop nonchalantly drop a "suspicious" abandoned backpack
into a bomb-proof trash box in Cambridge, and am now watching a waste
truck empty out the box minutes later (no overlap or communication
between disposal workers or police). I've always resented the fear
mongering that led to to the mega-cans, but I guess they are an elegant
way to get back to business as usual "post-9/11".
