My consolation for Halmony & Halabaji in Sorokdo

These people stay in Sorokdo (planned habitat for Leprosy patients - Hansen patients during Japan war period). 
In Sim Halmony - She is the daughter of a wealthy family and discovered she was infected when she was 15. She decided to kill herself at that time and swallowed poison but survived. Her father died because of the shame of his loving child. She came to Sorokdo only to try 3 days before another suicide plan, but she has been staying there since 1952. She once was married and had a child but was forced to do an abortion by the Korean government (this was on the famous TV program in 2016 그것이 알고싶다 1042회). She is now a sincere Christian and very very extroverted halmony. 

Yeon Ae Halmony - She lived in Bosung, not too far from Sorokdo. Fortunately, she was married and had two sons. After her husband died, she came to live in Sorokdo. I am not sure if she could hold her sons at that time. Holding their child was banned at that time, they were allowed to meet in certain times only in front of the sea. I was afraid to make her feel sad with that question. She introduced herself as an elephant Halmony since she has no toes due to the disease. She is a very giving person. She wants to make it sure her visitors are well. Her house is a party house for us, visitors. 

Doo Sik Halabaji- Unfortunately, I don’t know much about him. He was not well mentally when I met him in the hospital. He liked to wear fashionable outfits and played harmonica. When I met him, he wanted my ring but couldn’t get it then. He is now dead; I can’t hear him playing the harmonica anymore.
